The Aira Force Faeries
Peer
down from above.
The force of the fall
Leading
us on
Until we have spoken
And communed, one-on-one.
Dancing and singing
Fae folk waft and wend
Soothsaying
and seeing us
Right to the end
Of the vertical valley
Hanging graceful, divine
To the song of the river
A familiar
rhyme?
The
Dobbies and Boggarts
Of the forest awake
Making mischief, they
Playfully give and they take;
From the tumbling white stream
Running down from the ghyll
To the vast shimmer of Ullswater
Below the hill.

The graceful flowing
White Spectre
Playing Her role,
With supporting cast from the otherworld
Of hob-goblin and troll.
The descent of the water
Continues in haste
Which the Green Men of the woodland
Have all but outpaced
And as sunset approaches
Secret creatures
retreat
To their hidden abodes
Beneath tumbling white sheets -
Of moonlit bathed water
All ghostly and bright,
Whooshing
and gushing
Throughout the mysterious night.
Whilst the screech of an owl
And the grunt of the deer
Keep
the Aira Force Faeries
From getting

poet and esoteric explorer Alex Langstone currently lives in Penzance with his partner, artist and illustrator Paul Atlas-Saunders.
They run The Druid Grove of Bega, a druid group which offers rites of passage for all. They are in particular demand
